the purpose of your trip to Tanzania is to climb Kilimanjaro or go on a safari, then we.
recommend purchasing an international flight directly into Kilimanjaro International Airport |
(JRO). Our hotels are just a 40 minutes drive from the airport.
I, for any reason, you cannot fly to Kilimanjaro Airport internationally, you can fly into
Zanzibar (ZNZ) or Dar es Salaam (DAR) and then reach Kilimanjaro by local Tanzanian airlines.

There are no mandatory vaccinations for entering Tanzania. The only case that can sometimesbe an exception is vaccination against yellow fever. A certificate of vaccination against yellowfever may be required to enter Tanzania if you are coming after a stay in one of the countrieswith risk of yellow fever transmission (e.g. Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda). You can find a full list ofthese countries on the website of the International Association for Medical Assistance toTravelers. If you just plan to have a short (less than 12 hours) layover between flights in one ofthem without leaving the airport, the certificate will not be necessary.

Those arriving from the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Belarus, the USA or thecountries of the European Union have no vaccine requirements.

Since the trail to the top passes through five different climatic zones - from the rainforestat |the beginning to the glaciers at the summit - you should bring gear for a variety of weather |conditions. A complete list of required gear can be found here.If you do not have the needed clothes, shoes, trekking poles, a sleeping bag or any other itemsfrom the list, you can always rent the missing equipment from us upon arrival. We only usequality gear from The North Face, Black Diamond, Red Fox and Mountain Hardwear.

There is no definite answer to this question, but most climbers prefer to fly to Kilimanjaro
during dry seasons - from mid-December to mid-March and from mid-June to late October.
However, there are some perks to climbing during the rainy season. Read more in our article.

There are routes that require more stamina and routes that are suitable for beginners. In
general, it's best to be in good physical shape and be able to walk at least ten kilometers at a
time (approximately 6 miles) over rough terrain. Cardio exercises shouldn't be an
insurmountable challenge if you want to climb Kilimanjaro. To prepare yourself for the
expedition, do regular hiking, jogging and don't take the elevator when you can climb the
stairs.
