Mount Kenya Sirimon Route — 4 Days to Point Lenana
The Sirimon route is the most popular and best-acclimatizing ascent on Mount Kenya, approaching from the north through dense montane forest …
Tsavo is Kenya's largest national park — a vast wilderness of red-dust plains, lava flows and the famous man-eaters' history. This 4-day combo starts from the Mombasa/Kenya coast and covers Tsavo West (Mzima Springs crystal-clear water, Black Rhino Sanctuary, cape buffalo, leopard, maneless lion) and Tsavo East (famous red elephants, large prides, Galana River). Ideal as a standalone safari or added after a Diani Beach holiday.
Early morning pick-up from your Mombasa hotel or coast accommodation. Drive to Tsavo West National Park, arriving mid-morning. Game drive on the way to the lodge. After lunch, continue game driving — cape buffalo, elephant, leopard, maneless lion. Visit the Black Rhino Sanctuary for close-range rhino viewing. Return to lodge for dinner and overnight.
Early breakfast then drive to Mzima Springs — crystal-clear water where hippos and crocodiles coexist peacefully (underwater viewing platform). Depart Tsavo West with game drive en route to Tsavo East National Park. Check in and have lunch at the lodge. Afternoon game drive. Return to lodge before sunset.
Full-day game drive across Tsavo East's open savannah. Track the famous red-dust elephants, large lion prides, leopard, cheetah, and diverse birdlife along the Galana River and Aruba Dam. Picnic lunch in the field. Return to lodge for dinner and overnight.
Morning game drive with fresh eyes after a night's rest. Check out of lodge and drive back to the Mombasa coast or Ukunda/Diani area, arriving in time for lunch.
Tsavo was completely different from the Mara — vast, red-earthed, and gloriously empty of other vehicles. We saw the famous red elephants dust-bathing, a leopard near Mzima Springs, and had the Kilaguni waterhole almost to ourselves at sunset. Four days felt like a true wilderness expedition rather than a tourist circuit. Edward's knowledge of this park is exceptional.
